Summary of Position Responsibilities:
As Senior Designer, designs, presents and installs targeted number
of jobs within budgetary guidelines, in collaboration with the member
and and in conjunction with information supplied by Marketing.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Designs, supervises, presents and installs the required annual targeted
number of models as assigned.
- Establishes design direction for each model. Determines the marketing
direction, style of interior furnishings and color, built-in design,
special treatments (i.e. artist treatments), selects furniture, fabric,
wallpaper. Produces all built-in drawings and schedules. Reviews all
presentation boards.
- Selects all artwork, paints, mirrors, lamps and furniture. Schedules
all clerical and drafting assignments in conjunction with the Design
Manager. Reviews all schedules, and signs off the total page before
going to Pricing. Completes main communication with assigned Purchasing
agent and Pricing.
- Schedules preliminary review with member and/or the, to verify correctness
of space plans, built-ins, color selection and marketing direction
as well as schedules a final design critiques with to review the completed
design.
- Presents job to client using the presentation guidelines as specified
by BDL policy.
- Establishes placement of all furniture and artwork in the model,
reviewing accessory direction with Junior Designer(when applicable)
and accessorizes the main areas* or all areas in the unit. Oversees
the Junior designers accessorization (when applicable) in the secondary
areas of the model. Supervises both the design and warehouse crew while
at the job site.
- Oversees that follow-up is accomplished within the time frame specified
by BDL policy.
- Develop and follow a program to increase personal effectiveness
in the areas of management, leadership, supervision, general business
and design.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
